What I'm Reading

via here

This was suggested by my mom knowing my love of food/cooking (there are recipes in this book) and my recent obsession with Paris.  Have to say so far so good although after Dorian anything would seem lighter.......

What I'm Reading

via here

I have read this author before and enjoyed her books.  I read this one and it was just a good light read.  To be honest this is another book that's in the queue but I had no idea what it was about when I started reading it - as happens a lot.  It turns out upon further research that it only cost 99 cents so this would be why I purchased it.  So far so good.   After all what book isn't worth 99 cents.

What I'm Reading

via here

Ok truthfully the title of the post should be "What I've Read" as I finished this book on our vacation this week.   That being said I guess that means I can give it a little review.  I liked this book.  It was good to hear someone else describe how they struggle with meditation and living a "zen" life.  It also inspired me to go on a yoga retreat.  I truly think that would be a great experience but I might need a Janelle in my life in order for that to happen.  All in all I would reccomend this book.  She has a facebook page which I have joined as well.

In other news you probably noticed there was no Aloha Friday this week.   I was on the island and I did have internet and did think about it and actually logged on to do it.   The thing is that I still haven't figured out exactly how to post on the Ipad as silly as that seems and my vacation on  a wonderful island isn't the place to figure it out.

I've downloaded all the pictures from our 4th of July in LC with the family as well as pictures from the Island and I hope to have some posts tomorrow before I have to go back to reality on Monday.

What I'm Reading....

via Amazon
This was a 99 cent bargain at Amazon and so far so good.   After all it's summer so that lends itself to lighter reading.
As for the last book - Waiting for Spring - it was just OK.  I would give it 2 1/2 stars out of 5. Can't say I would recommend it but I think it was also a bar gin book so it was probably worth a couple of bucks.  It had everything, sex, drugs, divorce, murder, babies, you name it and it probably happened in that book.  I have to be honest that I skimmed throught this quite a bit but the ending was what I was hoping for.

What I'm Reading (and books I reccomend)

Last night I finished A Homemade Life (was sad when it was over) and so it was on to the list of books on the Kindle to see what was next.  I have to say that I download books and then I can't remember what they are so its always an adventure to pick the next book because I usually have no idea what the content will be.   Since we have been "waiting for spring" for what seems like months around here I thought this was appropriate.

Waiting for Spring by RJ Keller
So far so good.  I think its going to be a pretty easy read.

Also, wanted to list some books that I've read recently and would highly recommend.

What I'm Reading

via here
What I need to keep reminding myself as I read this book is that it's not fiction.   Someone actually lived this life.  I definite must read for anyone.

update 5/30 - I finished this book and I would still suggest it to anyone to read.   It is an amazing story and the ending comes together in a neat bow.  It seems a little rushed at the end but its understandable as the focus is more on her earlier life.  I'm just wondering why this hasn't been made into a movie - although logistically it might be hard and would probably loose a lot.
